Religion and spirituality have always been central to Haitian culture. When looking into the primary Haitian religion, for much of its history, including present-day, Haiti has been a prevailing Christian country, primarily Roman Catholic. However, it is actually a little more complex. Some say Roman Catholicism is the "official" religion of Haiti, while Voodoo may be considered the country's "national" religion. Although to many people, Catholicism and Voodoo cannot coexist, to many Haitians both believes intermingle.
